“HEDONE”

Born on Olympus, Hedonê is, in Greek mythology, the daemon or goddess of pleasure. She is referred to in Epicurean philosophy as a daemon, as she is the fruit of the union of passion with the soul. Her name literally means pleasure and gave rise to the word hedonism.

What is it?

At a time when tourism has become proletarianized and a good slice of the world’s population has “gained wings” (especially after Covid) by settling down everywhere thanks to affordable flights and the genius of Airbnb, what can a newly created local accomodation project in Portugal bring?

Nothing!

Hedone hasn’t discovered the “gunpowder” of local accommodation, it hasn’t filled any void that has yet to be filled, and let’s face it, it doesn’t have any special features that other accommodation, at this level of excellence, can’t offer.

So what does Hedone have to offer?

Hedone is a collection of houses owned by a Portuguese family who, having gone out into the world, had the privilege of settling down and living in places as absolutely beautiful as Cascais, Praia del Rey (next to Óbidos), Sintra and Tróia.

In PDR the inspiration of an immensely blue sky (on good days) over the cliffs of the West Coast with the Berlengas in the background; in Sintra the deep green, the direct and unobstructed view of the mountains with Monserrate peeking majestically through the luxuriant grove; in Tróia the sand and calm of the Sado estuary with the blessing of the Serra da Arrábida shading the blue sea; Cascais because you can breathe Guincho and Cresmina close by, with their rocky, rugged beauty, still wild and incredibly beautiful.

Hedone houses are intended to be an act of sharing by a family with those they want to welcome, be they golfers, surfers, tourists or those who come to Portugal even for professional reasons, in the places where we feel good and happy.

Hedone houses are happy houses. All with a good vibe

So Hedone is above all “home”. It’s well-being, deep well-being, calm, rest and always good scenery, always excellent houses and surroundings.

So, Hedone means going out into the world but always leaving here, from the houses and, by the way… always returning here.

Because the world is incredibly beautiful, but HOME is always HOME for each and every one of us, whatever the reason for our trip.

Hedone is HOME.

Where are we?

In some of the most exclusive and picturesque areas of Portugal:

Troia Peninsula (Troia Resort)

On the longest beach in Europe, white sands spread out lazily along 45 km of dazzling beauty, kissed by a turquoise blue sea where dolphins play. And it all starts in Troia, a place of singular beauty.

And what else does Hedone offer you?

Peace and tranquility of body and spirit. The world can be a place of unbearable anxiety and violence. Wars, epidemics, crises keep us in constant anguish and destroy our physical and emotional balance.

We need places of peace where we can “escape the world” from time to time.

Portugal and Hedone are part of these places.

You can go everywhere but start here at Hedone.
